“FEAR IS THE PATH TO THE DARK SIDE. FEAR LEADS TO ANGER. ANGER LEADS TO HATE. HATE LEADS TO SUFFERING.” – YODA

I can’t really say it any better than Yoda and it comes down to the heading of this section.

There are many ways to become aware of your thinking and the method I’ve used has been to sit down for a moment and just write down everything that comes to mind, and I mean everything.

When you look at the list, you will certainly find a lot of rubbish, but these are your thoughts and what do we do with rubbish? Yes, that’s right. We throw it out.

Repeat this process once or twice a week for a month or two and what this will do is that it will enable you to become aware of your own thoughts, positive and negative and then you have a choice about what you want to do next.

Negative thinking is just a habit and, as I’ve mentioned, once you’re aware of your habits, they are no longer habits, but choices and this is where you come it. Your life is your responsibility and now that you have choices, your responsibility is to rid yourself of all the habits and negative thinking that holds you back from living your life to your full potential.

You have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Life is all about new experiences and to be a part of that, you have to go beyond yourself as you are now. You won’t know your limits until you’ve tried and failed and it doesn’t matter if you fail 10 times as long as you get up 11 times.

I was deeply inspired by the movie The Bucket List with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. Here are two guys as close to death as possible and yet they embark on an epic journey based on the bucket list of one of the guys. A bucket list is no more than a wish list for what you want to accomplish in life and it will contain everything from the improbable to the smallest of wishes.
